1. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?
Cookies are text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used in order to make websites work or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owner of the site or to another site that recognizes that cookie.
However, it’s not only cookies that can be used in this way. Functions performed by a cookie can be achieved by other means, too. This policy on cookies, therefore, also applies to any similar technology that stores or accesses information on your device. This could include, for example, local storage, beacons, third-party application program interfaces (“APIs”) and software development kits (“SDKs”). The single term “cookies” refers to cookies and any similar technologies. Our use of these technologies is described in more detail below.
2. WHAT KIND OF COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES DO WE USE?
First-party and third-party cookies
Cookies can be first-party or third-party. A first-party cookie is set directly by us to your device, for example to facilitate you logging into our Family Connect, whereas a third-party cookie is set by a third party such as our analytics providers, who measure the usage of our sites and Services.
Persistent and session cookies
Cookies can be persistent or session cookies depending on the time that they remain on your device. A persistent cookie is stored on your device after your web browser is closed or once your session ends. It can be used by the Services to recognize your device when you open your browser and use the Services again. A session cookie exists temporarily on your device while your browser is open. It is deleted automatically once you leave the website or close your browser.
The types of cookies used by us and our partners in connection with the Services can be classified into one of the following categories: (i) Essential, (ii) Functional, and (iii) Analytics.
Where required under applicable law, we will only use non-essential cookies with your consent. If you do not accept the use of cookies, please disable them using the instructions below.
