k-ID Explained: Jeff
k-ID's Chief People Officer and Co-Founder, Jeff Wu, explains why he started k-ID
Transcript:
"So the reason why I started k-ID. I've been in the trust and safety space for the last 20 years. First at early day Google and then at early day Facebook. And I had the experience of working on a number of different trust and safety issues. But the one that struck closest to my heart was the issue of child safety.
I know a lot of these companies, they say that they're safety by design, but I can tell you, from an insider's perspective, that that's not always the case.
So when we had the opportunity to start k-ID, we really wanted to start a company that was focused on child safety and child privacy, and that was safety by design. So building the defense upstream, to prevent kids from having bad experiences and not trying to mitigate bad experiences after they happened."
