Learn moreIf kids can use your app, the law applies, whether you built it for them or not. Every builder hits the same questions.
Kai runs the whole job. It reads your product, resolves what every market requires, builds the engine, wires the flows, and then stays on watch.
Share your app with Kai. It looks at what your app does and who uses it, then works out what every country asks of it.
Age checks, parent approvals, spending limits. Kai turns on the ones your features call for and leaves the rest off.
Laws change all the time. When one does, Kai updates your setup on its own. The law changes; your code doesn't.
Everything k-ID does for the world’s biggest platforms, in one self-serve SDK.

The most up-to-date database of online safety and privacy law, curated by real legal experts with primary-source citations. It saves you hundreds of hours of legal research.
The right check, per market
Kai orchestrates the world’s best age assurance providers and uses the method each jurisdiction requires.
Age assurance, verifiable parental consent and parental linking are all included. You get an age signal, not a person’s identity.
Features that follow the law
Kai finds the features regulated for young users and switches each one on or off per market and per age.
No more choosing between kicking kids out and taking the risk.
Do I need age checks in the UK?
Short answer: if UK users can reach you, yes. The Online Safety Act’s child-safety duties are live and require “highly effective” age assurance around age-restricted features — a birthday dropdown doesn’t count.
What does the DSA ask of me for teen users?
Platforms open to minors in the EU must take appropriate and proportionate measures for their privacy, safety and security — and can’t show them ads based on profiling. The Commission’s 2025 guidelines spell out age assurance and safe defaults.
Which US states ask for a parent’s OK?
Several, each on its own terms: Utah, Texas and Louisiana among them tie some teen features — messaging, purchases, targeted ads — to a parent’s consent, and some of these laws are under court challenge. neimo. tracks each one’s text, dates and status.

Add Kai, a single SDK from k-ID. It works out what each of 200+ markets requires for online safety, checks age the right way in each one, and turns features on or off for each user automatically. It's live in minutes, and your first 10,000 users a month are free.
Yes. Kai identifies users under 13 in the US, runs verifiable parental consent where required, and limits data collection and features like targeted ads until parental consent is given.
Yes. Kai applies Brazil's rules automatically for Brazilian users, including age assurance and switching off features like paid loot boxes and targeted ads for minors.
PP Tunas asks online services to assess their own risk. A service rated high-risk is closed to users under 16, and users under 18 need a parent's consent. Kai detects users in Indonesia and applies the right age checks, consent and feature limits for each age group.
California's Age-Appropriate Design Code asks online services to estimate the age of their users so the right privacy settings apply (or alternatively treat all users as children), and its privacy law keeps targeted ads and profiling off by default for users under 16. Kai checks age the way California asks and sets those defaults for each age group.
Kai includes age assurance free for your first 10,000 users a month, then 2¢ per monthly active user. It surfaces the available verification methods for each country automatically, and it adapts your app based on the result.
No. Age checks are one part. Kai also tracks online safety requirements around the world and changes your app's features to match. It's way more than just an age gate.
